FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
SecureITExpert Brad Bemis Launches New Security Startup
Last week it was announced that SecureITExpert Brad Bemis would be stepping down from his role at Network Computing Architects (NCA) to establish his own information security consulting firm.
Today Brad followed up by announcing the official launch of his new company. "SecureITExperts is now up, operational, and already engaging with customers" says the newly minted CEO.
Although Brad has moved on from his position at NCA, a strong bond remains in place. The two companies will actually be working together in close partnership to deliver a wide array of services for their combined customer base.
"NCA is currently in the process of realigning its core strategy and returning to its technology roots. With a 20 year history in the industry, their implementation and support expertise with firewall products from companies like Palo Alto Networks and WatchGuard Technologies are unmatched. Their history with RSA's SecureID Two Factor Authentication and EnVision Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) product suites is equally impressive."
"NCA is also directly connected with industry security giant McAfee Security and the Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) Solutionary - an incredibly client-centric service organization that excels at monitoring and managing security systems so you don't have to. NCA isn't just a security company though, they also possess deep expertise in collaboration and communications, carrier services, storage, virtualization, and many other in-demand, business-enabling technology solutions."
Meanwhile, SecureITExperts is being spun up to address the information security risk management side of the equation; approaching things from a different angle.
"Information security is one of the most significant business challenges of the 21st century and impacts organizations of all types and sizes. Despite our rapid technological advancements and our continuous monetary investments in new security systems, the number, severity, and visibility of successful (and damaging) security incidents continues to rise. Every step we take forward, the community of attackers is leaping ahead tenfold, and the cost of protecting our information assets has soared to unprecedented levels. Further aggravating the situation, the compliance mind-set that we've established over the last five years (to the exclusion of all else) has seriously damaged our effectiveness as security professionals and greatly reduced our ability to defend the organizations we were originally hired to protect."
"Is the failure of an entire industry to fulfill its core mission really an acceptable outcome? Or is it time to try something different? We need to challenge our attitudes, beliefs, and methods. We need to stop relying on technology as our immediate ‘go to’ for information security problem-solving and get back to a people and process centric model - it's not sexy, it's not exciting, but people and process are the real key to making security work. Technology plays a part - but we have to be smart about how we use that technology. There has to be an intelligent plan in place - a plan that covers the strategic, tactical, and operational aspects of information security as a collective whole, rather than in-part. At SecureITExperts we have the knowledge, experience, and ability to make that happen! It's not just what we do - it's who we are - people who consider information security issues from a very different perspective and are absolutely dedicated to helping business and technology leaders make better decisions about how to protect their information assets."
