Sometimes I post about diet and health; here's my current thinking:

Scratch the surface and it's scary what we're doing to our health. With a few notable exceptions, nutritionists, dietitians, doctors are all about orthodoxy, not science. By the accounts of some who have researched this, today's orthodox dietary view that developed in the 1950s isn't based in science, but on the ego trip of a few bogus researchers, egged on by impatient politicians.

For a lighthearted introduction, watch the video Fat Head, by Tom Naughton (although I wouldn't advocate the diet he used to illustrate the issue). Or read Gary Taubes' recent books.

TL;DR:
Don't eat: Sugar, wheat, O6-fats, trans-fats;
Do eat: meat (esp. grass-fed), eggs, butter, saturated fat, monosaturated-fats, O3-fats.
